Funny Girl

The Wee One is in her 11th month now. She is doing all the typical things for her age, but she definately has a personality all her own. I think she is somehow channeling a puppy. She follows faithfully, she barks, she pants, she loves balls...hum. Actually my favorite thing that she does these days is her supportive cheer. Whenever she hears clapping or cheering she throws one or both hands in the air and usually follows that up with a "Whooo". It's adorable.

She seems to really love music. Don't know where she got her rhythmic abilities since The Husband and I are definately not the most talented dancing pair out there, but this girl knows her beats and loves to move to them. Her favorite song these days is the Lollipop song on the Dell comercial. I had to find it on my playlist so she could listen to it more often. She will stop whatever she is doing (even falling asleep) and perk up to listen to the song and dance along.

Back to blogging!

At least I hope to get back to this. I am constantly inspired by my dear friend in Omaha who blogs on a regular basis (check on http://www.momontherocks.com/). While in no way do I feel I am as humerous as she is, I can be funny on occasion and if nothing else, this gives me an outlet for my craziness.

I will try to write about things that someone might find interesting, but I make no promises. Some will be short, some will be long...it all depends on my mood that day I suppose.

For a quick update on my life: The Wee One is 11 months old this month. We are living in the middle of nowhere (literally, there is a museum here called No Man's Land). The Husband is an actual professor. I am teaching part-time and learning to be a stay-at-home mom. Thinking about getting into the craft world in the form of mosaics...that should be an interesting experience! HA!

FYI - I am watching Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure as I type this and it is AWESOME!

That's about it for now...

Getting Settled

Okay, so I come from a history of moving. In my childhood it was moving homes, as an adult I have added moving in the form of travel to my repitore. I have just moved into another new home, making this my 6th move in 6 years. Rediculous! Additionally, we (the immediate fam) have recently returned from a month long roadtrip, hitting 8 states, numberous national parks, and several state capitols. I'll write about the trip later.

Needless to say, I am ready to be settled for a while. The house is getting closer to being put together and once it is, I vow to stay here for at least 2 years! Don't get me wrong, I love being on the go, but a little continuity would be nice as well, right?

So, it has been a while since I have been on here, sharing my posts with anyone who happens to look at my ramblings. (I will acknowledge that there are very few who actually read my rambles, but I like to write them as though someone is reading them.)

Lately, I have been very preocupied with the changes happening in my life. I am currently organizing things at my current job to turn my position over to the person replacing me in a couple of weeks. Aside from that, I have been teaching part-time. I am just finishing a great class at the Unviersity of Phoenix called American Pop Culture. It has been really interesting and fun. We actually meet face-to-face once a week for five weeks. That class ends this Tuesday. Then last week, I started teaching Fundamentals of Communication at the Northwest Arkansas Community College. That will last a little longer, but the students are great. I am really exicited about this group of students. They are interesting and so far seemingly ready to learn about communication.

In my free time, I have been planning trips for The Husband and I. We went white water rafting for our 3 year anniversary and we will be taking a trip to Montana, Idaho and Wyoming this summer. Along with that, we will attend his family reunion and hopefully go to Austin City Limits this fall. Then in December, we will take a cruise. (Teaching part-time can really pay off - that's what allows us to travel like we do. Plus, we do it the cheap way - stay with people or camp out as needed.)

Okay, so here is the question on my mind...why are we (as a soceity) fascinated with mindless entertainment. I mean, I am one of the worst. I absolutely love incredibly stupid movies such as Dodgeball, Anchorman, The Wedding Singer, Tommy Boy, Old School, Strange Brew, Happy Gilmore, Fun with Dick and Jane, etc. Really stupid comedies seem to attract my attention. The thing is, obviously I am not the only one since people keep making these movies and making lots of money from them.

On one hand we have those movies that really make a statement about our lives or have a deep rooted message (which I really enjoy as well), and on the other we have these pointless movies that never win awards because they are strictly entertaining. I just find it fascinating how these movies draw so many in our culture into their grasps. I wouldn't change it for anything really. The Husband and I speak in forms of movie quotes half the time. It is our special way to relate to each other. : )

So, this is my big come back - a pointless message about pointless movies. Wow! I really got it! HA!

C is for Cookie

Okay so my title has absolutely nothing to do with what this entry is about...just like the phrase. : )

I had something very trivial happen the other day and yet, I feel I must share it with the WORLD! Get ready...I have officially gone from a B-cup to a C-cup! It's true. I bought two bras on Wednesday - both C-cups. Now, I will be honest, I just barely fill them out, but I was really having a hard time keeping my now velumptous boobs in my B-cup bras so it was time to do something about it.

I wish I could say that my body is just blooming, but I think the ultimate reason for the growing chest is the weight gain I have experienced since moving. It isn't so much that most would notice, but the clothing size is definately changing. Nothing that I am too concerned with at the moment, but I am going to have to start working out I think. Blast! I really HATE working out. I am hoping that I am starting early enough to only have to do some good walking rather than actually go to a gym. We'll see.

Anyway, so my husband is thrilled with the chest enlargement. Really you don't notice it if you are just looking, but to him, it is an exciting time. He likes that he now has "a little more than a handful." I should add that he has always been very kind to the size B that I was..."a handful is plenty." Boys...

Ultimately, what I am most excited about is the fact that I finally figured out why my bras were causing so much hassell and pain. They were too small. These past two days have been glorious! I haven't had to adjust my bust at all and I am back to not minding wearing a bra all day again. That was a growing concern with me because I want to wear a bra to help delay the gravity fight as long as possible, but I was so uncomfortable that it was getting to a point where I was willing to let gravity have a head start. Not so now! Gravity - you have met your match - the C-cup bra!
