As a speech communications instructor, you would think I would know that the wording you choose is crtical to your communication success. We'll just say that we all have our lapses in perfection. hahahaha - sorry the word "perfection" coming out of me just made me laugh to myself.
Backstory: as mentioned before, we are starting a tentative potty training process. Since we havea week-long trip planned for next week, we have not started a specific training program. For now, we have just had the little potty in the bathroom to get The Wee One used to the idea. We put her on it and talk about the process of potty time. We do this while she is fully dressed and then before baths we put her on it naked. She is pretty comfortable with it and will sit on it by herself. Of course, she likes to play with it as well. I think I have mentioned before that it sings when you put something in it...that's always fun.
So - on to today's event. After her bath and lotioning, she was running around the bathroom (which is fairly small so that's a pretty good accomplishment on her part), while naked. I was going to pick her up and take her to get diapered and dressed when I saw a big boogie. So I turned around to get something to wipe her nose and noticed she was playing with her potty. I did my typical verbal encouragement "That's your potty - you pee on it." As I walk over to her, I notice something running down the sides of the potty. Yep, she pee-ed on it. She was standing to the side and there was a nice trickel of pee running down to the bath mat. Nice. Do I have a child or a puppy? I guess I could take this as a positive that she follows directions well.
Needless to say, the new phrase at our house will be "Pee in the potty." Good times.

You are too funny Prairie, all the best of luck in the process. We have been working on this for a while and are finally starting to click, I would say that we are about 90% there, which is awesome! Best of luck with the wee one!
that's hilarious! how is potty training going?
It got put on hold for a while...we took a major road trip and then have been gone every weekend since Spring Break so we haven't really been trying to get her trained. We are starting again...slowly.
